That’s my signature. Well sort of. I’ve been working on this house for 2 years now and I’m still not done!! Do I now change my signature to 2 years down and one to go? I believe that I’ll just say the same thing next year. 3 Years down and one to go.

I guess that I am just tired right now and I have a killer headache. My ears keep picking up imaginary booms and I’m seeing lights appear out of nowhere. Just kidding – Happy Independence day to all my US refurber friends.

Let’s hope it’s not 3 years and going….. Next year.

The problem with being competent enough to do your own home repairs is that your standards get progressively higher. Thus there will always be something more to do.

Welcome to the insanity!

Do tell Dan!
The den was the second room I did. I’m going to replace the base boards. I’m glad that’s all I have on the list. The kitchen was the first room. I painted all the cabinets. Now I’m going to build new ones. I must be ....... Insane!!

Yeah, we milled our own baseboards. Now I’m looking at making doors to match. After I build the rest of the kitchen cabinets. And do the built-ins for the office…

...and at some point we want to re-wire the other half of the electrical system we haven’t rebuilt yet…

Argh.

Yeah Dan, I have the same bug. I wonder when the thoughts about building new doors throughout the house will turn into a to do item. So far I’ve been resisting the urge. I’m no electrician so we’re safe from those urges. ;) Then again – there are classes ….. Argh. Must … Stop …. The …. Insanity.

It’s very informative and you are obviously very knowledgeable in this area. You have opened my eyes to varying views on this topic with interesting and solid content. Actually I read it yesterday but I had some thoughts about it and today I wanted to read it again because it is very well written.
