Topic tags/keywords: free draw fox chapel sewing furnishings book resource drapes upholstery

One’s home is one’s castle and what better way to make it extra special than by adding your own finishing touches to the decor.

Fox Chapel Publishing’s illustrated guide to “Sewing Home Furnishings” provides you with the “how to” steps to sew everything from drapes to slipcovers, to bedskirts. Taking you from the beginnings of selecting the right material for the project, (I was surprised by how many factors should be taken into consideration), through gathering the right tools for the job, sewing your home accessory, to adding those finishing touches that takes your creation from “good” to spectacular.

Detailed instructions and photos are provided to sew ruffles, round corners, shirred welting, and add zippers to cushions. With over 200 images throughout the book, each step is clearly described not only in words but the diagrams as well. This is very helpful, making the book a superb resource for those with beginner to advanced sewing skills.

If you are thinking about sewing something for your home, this book is a resource you will want to have at your side!

My Ratings of The Book Layout and Appearance: Good balance of pictures, diagrams, and words. Thumbs Up! Instructions: Easy to follow. Thumbs Up! Project Selection: From window treatments, to sofas, to bedding. Great combination. Thumbs Up! Overall: Thumbs Up!

Sounds like a great book Debbie.I could sure use some ideas for curtains for here. The ones I have are from the previous owners and not really to my liking but they will do until I can replace them.
