Topic tags/keywords: question living room refurbishing tiles fireplace

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has remodeled their fireplace. Currently I have outdated red brick. I would like to re-do it with a stone veneer. Is it best to remove the old or place the new over the existing? Any suggestions would be helpful!

I have done exactly that.
Original

Completed

Mounting the material to the red brick was done with lead sinks. Any particular questions??

the way I’ve done it is new over old…..just need to nail metal lath over the brick and put a scratch coat of your mortar mix over it…..
