Luke's room (Nursery for new baby)

This is the nursery for our son Luke who is due 09/15/12. I painted the bedroom when we moved into the house. I added new baseboard, door and window casing and chair rail. I also removed the old sliding closet doors and put in bifold doors in their place. I had to lower the door opening 1.5” to accomodate the new doors. All materials for this project are from Menards. The paint is Sherwin Williams. I built the red bookshelf and used red paint with a brown glaze. My wife made the “LUKE” wall art. We are very happy with how this room turned out.

Congrats on the great news of your son. Is this your first?
The room looks fantastic. Your wife did a wonderful job on the “Luke” letters.

I’m happy for you and your wife. It looks like Luke will be very fortunate to have been born into a caring family like yours. Nice work on a very important room in the house.

Very nicely done Dad! Definitely a room Luke can grow into. I like everything you did. The shelves are good looking. The closet doors, paint color, trim and crib all make for a really great classic look. Give my compliments to your wife for such well made letters. I bet Luke will be able to spell his name shortly after learning to say Dada.

You know, this fantastic room tells me that Luke is coming home to a family who loves him intensely. Congratulations mostly for your new family and for the heart you put into Luke’s room.

How about that? Luke didn’t want to wait 2 more weeks. I think he wanted to check out his room. I wish you nothing but happiness for you and your new family! What an incredible moment it is for you all. Everyone told me my life would change when my son was born. They just forgot to tell me it would get better.

Ethan, your life will never be the same. It will be better!
