Mini-bumpout Windows

Project by LPJ posted 508 days ago 1046 views 0 times favorited 1 comment Add to Favorites Watch

Our family room, TV watching room was not all that big so adding that skylight helped make it feel larger. Another thing was adding two windows on either side of the fireplace.

As you can see from the before picture, we already had a window style from the construction of the house. So our choice was made for us by default. It did’nt require a whole lot of planning or designing.

The windows were very easy to install because the simply attached to the exterior of the house, which was T1-11 siding. Just set the window to the right height of the hole, plumb it and screw it in with a bead of caulking on the face and it was in.

I simply had to cut my own window sill.

If you’re sharp-eyed, you’ll notice that the inside before picture reveals that the skylight is already in the room.

oh how I’d love one of these windows in my home. I did a quick search once and the cost made me gasp in surprise.

Your windows remind me of my dream – very lovely!!! Nice job.
