I was asked to remove the “patio” windows the owner had on his vacation home in Ocean City, MD. These windows are the type that are plastic. You can poke them and it goes back to it’s original shape.
His problem was the fact that he would clean them on Sunday afternoon and when he came back, Friday evening, he couldn’t see out of them and had to clean them again. Plus, the sun was always right “there”, making it hard to sit out there and enjoy the wonderful view he had. So, after 6 years, he decided to change the windows.
I installed some vinyl windows, 2 transoms attached to a slider. These were approximately 42”x100” total size. We had the manufacture apply a slight tint and made sure the bottom transoms were tempered.
I removed all of the original windows and aluminum, because, one of his biggest requirements was that he wanted to paint nothing, nor ever need to.
This in mind, I wrapped everything, inside and out with PVC boards.
The door is a full view Fiberglass door, which I had tinted to match the windows.
Total time on this job, 4 days.
