I had to put a commercial grade standing seam steel roof on a 1:12 pitch roof over a back porch. The kicker to it all is that the contractor working on it prior had already installed the framing for the 4’ balcony that was to be above it. (He thought the steel would be similar to that used on regular residential metal roofs and was afraid to damage it.)
I had to custom fit each piece and slide it under the balcony and the flashing he had provided, so it took me a day longer than I had expected. All in all, the roof came out looking great.
Then, he told me he had no time to finish the job and asked that I finish it. So, I installed the composite decking and the glass rail.
Total of 6 days worth of work. (To include losing most of 1 day due to rain)
End result, I learned, from the factory rep, how to install glass railings. I installed the railings alone, with the help of the clamps and the 2×4’s.
