Waterfall, landscape bed

Project by averagejoe posted 12-15-2011 04:33 PM 4725 views 0 times favorited 6 comments Add to Favorites Watch

After looking into our backyard and feeling like it needed a makeover from drab to fab we thought we would add a little bit of landscaping between the existing tree line. Well, I’ve learned that I can’t do things on a small scale and eventually the project surmounted to waterfall, almost a ton of barn stone and rock and hours of summer enjoyment.
The pics show the before during and after. The dog even approves.

Thanks Brent. To get a comment from even a proxy of ChuckNorris means the world to me.

Wow -

Beautiful job, Joe…

Those are some pretty big stones to be moving around at various elevations – especially in such a big backyard, and your hole is dug with some great precision. (I’m always fighting roots and stones, it seems.) Did you do this all alone?? Very impressive!

Thanks…I had to call in a favor from a buddy to help set the liner. Truly it was one of those things that I set a project deadline and the project was seeming like it was dragging on a bit too long. So with his help, we made great strides.
Two of my four kids (10/12 yr old girls) enjoyed helping too. They were in charge of digging the hole. Such great sense of accomplishment when you finish fun projects like this isnt it?

Wow, I’m looking to include a waterfall in my backyard this year. The hope is to get it set soon, where it will go, so that when I get busy again, I won’t have to dig, hopefully, that will get done soon.

It looks very nice, wonderful placing, for sure.

I can imagine that you and your kids take great pleasure in it now, that it is done.

I really like the waterfall! It adds a lot of character to the yard.
