Outdoor Kitchen

Here is one of the projects I have been working on for a while now. I finished up a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t the GC on this one, I just did the carpentry work. I’ll try to get some pictures of it after it’s 100%. This thing has two refrigerators, sink, garbage disposal, ice maker, gas grill, two gas burners, surround sound, shower and heaters!

wow, I love the stone work. Looks like you must get enough warm weather to enjoy it!

Just watched a movie about Bali, Indonesia, and the majority of homes were open air. Of course, I’ve seen outside kitchens/grilling areas before, but I am curious about building an open air house (except for a walled bedroom) at some property I have in South Texas. A sort of open aired house pavilion like the ones in tropical paradises. I’m curious if you put any safeguards into making sure the appliances would not be susceptible to extreme weather or if that is an issue in Georgia.

As far as I know there wasn’t anything extra done. All of the appliances came from a store that caters to outdoor kitchens and patios though. Other than being all stainless steel, there didn’t seem to be anything special about them.

That sounds like a really cool project. I have always wanted to do a timber framed house. Maybe, I’ll steal your idea and incorporate it into a timber frame. ;)
