ARBOR # 2 FOR BACKYARD WITH NEW DETAILS

Project by kiefer posted 737 days ago 2591 views 3 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is the second arbor for our backyard and will replace the old arbor at the back gate.
I have the project almost complete in the shop and ready for staining which I will do inside because of the rainy weather .
I designed a new lattice panel and arch cross beams to let the creeper grow Thur the openings in the cross beams as we get some very windy days and this will help keep the vines in place.
Please take a look and I always appreciate constructive comments !

I will post the completed installed project pics here soon .

The posts are made from construction lumber same as the rest of the arbor.
This is the router jig I build to make the from the glued up blanks .
Two 2×4” and two 2×6”cut and rabbeted and glued.

Hi Gary

This project took about 20hr to complete including turning the posts but I am in no rush anymore as this is a arbor for my own backyard and not made for pay !

That is spectacular for 20 hours of work. The rounded columns are a great touch.

Thaks for this nice post. I have to make one myself, but it will not be as nice as this one. I don’t have the 20 hrs to spare.

The column jig is great. I did see your jig on Lumberjocks.
