I have just installed an island top that I made from a beautiful pine slab. These people’s home is really well done and my piece fit in perfectly, notice the custom light fixtures. I have a few tricks to make something like this work, sorry I am not going to share them, too much work figuring it out and no one else does it like this. I have made tables from this material in the past, and hope to do more.

Well, thanks for not sharing your tips which we have no clue about since you didn’t mention what problems you might have so we can’t be dutifully impressed!
I can only think of two issues – shrinkage or movement with the changes in humidity and keeping it from cupping and splitting both of which have well known solutions.
Looks great though, whatever you did.

Nice top, what finish did you use?
Is this old growth pine?
