I finished a room in the basement for a pool table and needed something to store the cue sticks, billiard balls, racks, etc. I decided to set it into the wall because in a billiard room every inch counts and I did not want the rack to interfere with play. I used oak bead board for the back and oak for the trim, etc. I stained it to match the the pool table, then 3 coats of wipe on poly. It functions well, I was pleased with how it turned out.
