Here was my first floor, we debated doing tiles but the original floors were in good shape, they just happened to be burried under carpet and vinyl tiles and a funky coat of adhesive/paint mixture. These floors are finished with a water based Urethane, 4 coats. I am really disapointed with how they have help up. My 2 cats ahve left major claw marks in the boards. They haven’t marked up any of the hardwood floors in thre rest of the house. The next project was done with Oil based.

good job…...looks like the floors turned out great, well worth the time and effort to bring them back to life…..I do allot of this on my jobs, I most do complete remodels of older homes, what I use, if money permits, is a tung oil finish by Waterlox…goes on easy, beads liquids and if the pets scratch it it can just be re applied to the effected area or you can do the whole floor without sanding….. .
Your floors look great…

You did a great job on the floors. I think hardwood floors are way better than tile.

Looks very nice! You did a great job!
We finished our floors with tung oil and OIL based polyurethane and it is holding up just fine. But the shoes come off in the house!
I had to bring the oil based polyurethane in California myself, it is not sold here in large containers.
