Hello Everyone, This is my first blog on the HomeReburbers, I’ve belonged to the LJ’s for 25 days but who’s counting. The time has gone extremley fast, and I’ve been learning of really great information from that site. So I was invited to come over too this site and post some of my remodel projects. Hopefully someone will maybe be able to use something. Well here goes. Sue and I wanted to redo our kitchen, its only a little one, but its just her and me living at home now. The size is 8’ x 12’ and has 2 windows, a pantry area, and 2 entrance areas (one from dining room, and one from cellar). So you see we have to try and utilize/maximize
very little space we have.
The Base Cabinet will fit in between the 2 entrance ways a seven (7) foot area. We’re making it in one section, with 2 drawers an area under the drawers for wax paper, alunimun paper and such. It will have 2 larger doors, and 2 smaller doors. The materials that we will use is 4’ x 8’ sheets of the Cabinet Grade Oak Plywood 3/4”. We’re using this to fit into our Budget, being we’re on fixed income’s (some off you know what I’m talking about). Have a good bit of Time to do things, but not enough money to get them done.
Cabinet size: 18” X 32 X 7’, Biscuit Joinery (#10’s),
Here’s a couple of Photo’s, hope you enjoy.
PS: This is 2nd cabinet that wife and I made, when we moved in to this house 13 years ago, We made the existing cabinets, with a circular saw, drill, and jig saw. They’ve served their purpose, but Mom wants to upgrade. So here we are.

Nice looking cabinets John. are you sure you don’t build those for a living? This should be a nice addition to your kitchen.

Good start, John. I’m about to start the cabinets in my kitchen. Just finished the pantry, so in the next day or so I should be man handling those sheets of plywood.

Looking good, looks like plywood face frame, little tricky… What kind of finish are you putting on this?
