I have been in the outdoor lighting industry for the past ten years, and currently serve as the president and head designer for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP) of Northern Virginia. I began my career in lighting, with two years direct training under OLP founder Tom Fenig in Charlotte, NC. Over the past decade in the lighting industry, I have seen a tremendous amount of growth for the specific application of outdoor landscape and architectural lighting in the DC metropolitan area. In the early 1990’s, residential landscape lighting was still something that was rarely done in Northern Virginia, and has now grown into a popular home improvement with added benefits of home safety, security, extended leisure time outdoors, and additional curb appeal. Whether you are a DIY person or someone looking to have a professional lighting system designed, installed, and maintained, I hope to provide helpful tips for outdoor lighting in both residential and commercial applications.
