Hi!
My name is Keith & I am a retired Pipefitter from the USSteel Corp. I worked there for 28 1/2 years & would have worked there longer if my knees didn't take me out . Being a Pipefitter is a very physical job & it takes its toll on ones body. A lot of the fitters have bad knees, backs & etc.
But, now that I am retired I have another full time job, I get to take care of my 7 year old Granddaughter. She lives with the wife & I, 24/7.
Sometimes I do get to work in my attached woodshop. Its not real big, just 24' by 10'. But, it's ok for me. I would love to have a biger one but, I am happy with what I got. But, still, you know.
I'm 60 years old now & have been collecting tools since I was 10 years old. It's soooo disgusting for me to go to a store that sells tools. Because there is nothing there that I don't have at least 1 of, sometimes 2.
The only thing I usually get, though. Are the expendable items, sandpaper, drill bits & things like that.
Lately I haven't been building anything & my projects are building up. I have been busy refinishing furniture that I find in someones trash on the curb.
People are throwing out stuff that you can't believe. It only needs to get fixed. Sometimes a new coat of varnish, s all that it needs. Nothing much wrong with them at all. Sometimes just a little fix it job.
I have 2 daughters that are getting some of the items that I have found & I refinished. My family are also reaping some of the rewards. Naturally I get some as well.
