(Note: no pictures available)

It’s been a few years that I have held back from moving stuff around in the kitchen. I’ve waited patiently until I just couldn’t wait any longer!

The “before” is irrelevant, other than saying that the “before” annoyed me. So Monday, I moved the upright freezer out into the porch, removed the shelving units that surrounded my chimney (which has fake red brick on the surface and I love the look).

Rick built a quick, 2×4 shelf unit that fits into the spot where the freezer used to be and the shelf now holds all of my small appliances, making them easily accessible and all in one spot! WOO HOO

The chimney is now open and looks lovely and the room seems so big and empty that I think I can hear an echo.

Someone is a very happy camper, or baker, or cook, or… refurber! :)

It sounds like your off to a great start.

It would be nice to see the before pictures though.

If your porch is unheated, you’ll be saving on energy.

We kept our freezer in our garage, but we don’t have one anymore.

So you’re going green right from the start.

I guess we have to take your word for it with out a picture…lol.

Well I am very happy for you. It is very hard to have to work around things when they are not in place. We still deal with stuff in boxes; boxes blocking doors; lost stuff that is somewhere in a box, etc.

Good for you!!!!

thanks.
yes, it does feel good and the porch is its own freezer in the winter! :) Kinda made sense to put the freezer out there. Of course, in the summer, it is more like a sauna so I guess it will balance out over the year.

You are not very nice to Debbie, MrT. Maybe her camera broke, or Rick took it to work, or the kitchen is so small she could not get it in focus, or she lost the cable to down load the pictures from her camera, or she did not want you to see the pictures, she does not want anybody to post pictures anymore. I am sure she has a VERY GOOD reason Not to put the pictures on the web. So back off MrT!!!!

I demand photographic proof!

And bleck on bread machines.. I much prefer doing it by hand.. I find smooshing my fingers through sticky bread dough to be relaxing..

We’d finally pegged our whole wheat sour dough bread recipe and have it down to a science. Great stuff.

Say, pass the sherry, please… I feel like I’m coming down with something.

pictures? ah.. well.. ah… no. :D

bread machines – I smile when people talk about their homemade bread and their bread machines. Yes it is homemade bread and is tasty but I, too, believe that they have missed out on the best part of the process: the kneading.
I’ll be watching for your bread recipe, over at GT.
I’ll share my pumpernickel recipe.

If a picture is worth a thousand words we should be up to about half a picture…but not even a little black and white. We’d even settle for a sketch the back of a napkin.
