Last week, I held the January Sunrise Gathering but due to the extreme cold, we chose to cancel the tipi plan and move indoors.
My guests quickly labeled my home decor style as “eclectic”. Perhaps it is the mix of antiques and modern items in my home… or the “lush green” colours of the wall (ok, it’s almost fluorescent colour) mixed with a barn beam from my great-grandfather’s barn and shelves made from a slab of spalted maple.

This eclectic look fits for me—I’m not stuck in a box of everything going together as one style. If I like something, then it is included. I don’t care about fashion etiquette or trends of the day, unless it appeals to me.

My decorating style says a lot about me—if I like it then I like it – I don’t want to be “phony to impress”.

What does your style say about you?

Hi Ms. Debbie;

Nothing wrong with “thinking outside the box”.

If I were designing / furnishing our home, I would probably be in the same group of design “experts” as you.

In some of the homes we work, there are rooms that are off limits. They’re strictly to impress the Jones.

“impress the Jones” .. hmm that wouldn’t be covered in plastic would it?? I went into a home once and the gentleman was SO proud of his “living” room. It had plastic on the floor, all the furniture and even the lampshades. Yah. I was very impressed ;)

I guess my style lables me as “hand me down Rose” (lol) Nothing here matches either Debbie.But it sure is comfy cozy.

Debbie, is there such a style as a “honey-do-style”, if so, it might fit me well.
