mitre saw bench

this is my saw bench that i drag out to the jobsite . its all alluminum . i used to build them in wood which cost about 50.00 for the wood . they sometimes get wet and the wood eventually gets tristed and warped , making your cuts slightly off . i decided to try this about 8 yrs ago , and have been quite pleased with it . its slightly heavier than the wood ones but i consider it worth it in the long haul

its all welded together except the fence which i used screws in case it ever got bent or out of alignment , that would make it very simple to change out

this is one of the best tools ive bought in many years . it comes with many different rubber profiles that you wrap sand paper on for sanding mouldings ect. it also has a grout cutter for removeing tiles . a scraper blade , a couple different saw blades , which is what i use it for most . i retrim around doors a lot and usually have to pull the baseboard on both sides and try not to break it after trimming recut the base and put it back . with this tool i only mark the baseboard in place and cut it . ive cut oak like its butter makes a nice cut and saves lots of time i have the blade thats in the pic plus a 3 in. round blade . another great thing is when its running you can put the blade on your hand and it will not cut you !

vertical blinds

verticals have been quite popular where i live for some time . what isnt popular is the plastic valence that you get with them to cover the hardware . i am posting some ideas ive used to try to cover the hardware and make it more attractive. feel free to post anything you may have done as well .
this was the very first one and was not for the purpose of covering the hardware . the people simply wanted a shelf above the door . when finished they were quite pleased but i was not ! i was acually horrified to think i was dumb enough not to bring the freeze board down a couple in. to cover the top of the blinds . and thats where it all started . the following pics are the different ones ive done since

this one the verticals were eventually removed and replaced with drapes and i thought they looked quite nice as well
