If there’s one thing I hate it’s sleeping in a bedroom that’s full of clutter and clothes everywhere. I always try to clear up my bedroom as best I can but unfortunately my boyfriend doesn’t seem to share my sense of tidiness and it always ends up with clothes and what not spread about the room! When I do get a chance to clean and tidy the room though, there are a couple of ideas I have in mind on how to turn it from something that’s average into something beautiful. Of course there are many ways that you can decorate and design a bedroom and it would literally take me years to write down every little thing you can do, but for the sake of this blog, let’s have a look at 3 to 4 things that you can do to improve a bedroom. These are some of the interior designs and techniques that interest me and I hope they interest you also!

Have furniture fitted

One of the ideas that I saw a few months ago on the internet was to have a large wardrobe sort of built into the wall so it becomes part of the room rather than just in the way. There were some great examples of this that I saw online and I did a bit more research and found out that there are businesses that do this for a living. I searched for fitted furniture in Essex, which is where I live, and sure enough there was a business that had some perfect examples of what I was aiming for. However, I want to be more ambitious and try it myself. Ok this might take quite a lot of time and I’m not sure I have the expertise but I have a really good friend who’s brilliant with this sort of thing so I’m hoping he might give me a helping hand!

Install a sunken bed

This idea will require a bit of DIY (that’s ok for me as I like to build stuff!) but when finished it will really look spectacular. A sunken bed removes any height from the bedframe and makes it near enough the same level as the flooring. It’s certainly a unique feature and one that I desperately want to have in my bedroom!

A hammock perhaps

Ok so this is probably not going to be installed as a main bed, however it would be great to have in the corner of the room to maybe chill out in! Even better, I thought about putting it in the corner of the room that near to a window so you can have an amazing view whilst lounging around! I even have the corner all picked out and ready. I just need to persuade the other half to let me buy one and install it now!

Wall mounted television

So this is probably a lot easier to do than the sunken bed idea, but it will still require a bit of DIY but hey thats why this blog is here! We have a TV in our bedroom but it’s on a stand and takes up quite a sizeable amount of space in our bedroom. Wall mounting it be the perfect idea to not only save room but to give our bedroom a much more modern feel!

I’ve never really liked the idea of a sunken bed. Something about wanting to flop on it at the end of the day but ending up whacking your head along the edge just turns me off. And I think bedsheet removalas and cleanups might just be a tad more difficult with a bed that’s recessed…

My room furniture is cocoa and obsolescent/fantastic (custom essay writing company
). My dividers are a light sky blue and my roof is white. My bedding is somewhat a wine purple blend of cushions and covers.

Stepping into the bathtub and noticing that your shower curtain is dotted with mildew can make your skin crawl. But we have good news: “There’s no need to throw away your shower curtain once it’s dirty,” says Carolyn Forte, director of the Good Housekeeping Institute Cleaning Lab. Depending on the material, use the following advice on how to clean a shower curtain.

Plastic or vinyl
Wash the curtain on the highest water level with detergent like Good Housekeeping Seal holder Gain Liquid Detergent Original ($6, amazon.com). Add two to three bath towels for extra cleaning agitation, then hang it to dry or put in the dryer on low heat or fluff only.

Fabric
This may include cotton, nylon, polyester or hemp materials. If your shower curtain is made of one of these fabrics, or is decorative, it’s best to wash it following the instructions on its care label.

Prevent mildew
To extend how frequently you have to clean your curtain, always open the bathroom door after showering to allow moisture out. Opening a window and turning on the exhaust fan while showering will also help moisture dissipate. And don’t forget to stretch the shower curtain open either. “A couple extra minutes of work can really minimize cleaning time in the long-run,” says Forte.
