Step 1: frame in the new exterior wall.
I figured it would be better to start with that instead of taking out the old wall first: keep more heat in the house hopefully!
So, here are some photos showing the process. I framed the wall in 3 sections, on the icy driveway, and then flipped them up into place. Ended up using a hydraulic floor jack to push up the existing header, which gave me the needed 1/8” clearance to get the wall sections into place. In hindsight, it might have been easier to frame each stud in place. oh well.
Phew! all closed in!
