Has anyone ever seen or made wood awnings? Wifey asked me to get some ideas. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

Not awnings, but a friend built a frame and slats much like slat blinds to go over his deck.

Maybe MrTrim has some ideas.
As for ideas, does your wife like a square shape or a more rounded one? The square/ triangle shape is probably easier, but the rounded shape might look better. Think of the awnings you have seen on trailers or mobile homes, that might give you an idea what to do.
